Market and regulatory changes, including the Affordable Care Act, have fueled a historic period of consolidation in the healthcare sector. According to Thomson Reuters, healthcare merger and acquisition (M&A) deals totaled US$672.9 billion during 2015, which represents a 71 percent increase from 2014.
