By now, most IT leaders have learned that there’s more to dealing with ransomware than simply blaming a careless user and moving on. There are multiple levels at which they need to prepare for, watch out for, detect, respond, recover, and report on ransomware attacks. These, of course, include user training but extend to planning, preparation, advanced detection methodologies, rapid response, data backup and restoration, and incident management. Thoroughness on each of these levels significantly reduces the likelihood of suffering when attacks do come.
