This paper examines the Toad DBA Suite for Oracle – RAC Edition v12.1 and provides a representative comparison with Embarcadero’s DBArtisan XE3.5/9.2 purely from its ability to support the Oracle RDBMS. From a representative SQL tuning standpoint, we’ll also examine Embarcadero’s DB Optimizer XE3.5/3.6 Professional (again, from an Oracle perspective), and for various other analyses, I’ve included the optional add-on Analyst Pack. Since Embarcadero’s Analyst Packs include Space and Capacity Analysts, I’ve also referenced Space Manager 8.0, which is currently available under seat-based licensing as an add-on to Toad for Oracle.
